Aranyani Cushion

Hand woven from hand spun eri silk at a fair trade weavers cooperative in India. Naturally dyed with Indigo. This piece is hand woven with an additional weft, making it more labour intensive in order to create the weave structure. The back of the cushion cover is made from cotton. Beautiful soft handle. 45cm by 45cm

This piece is part of a collaboration collection designed by KULU, woven exclusively as limited editions. Naturally dyed with Indigo grown at Avani. Each scarf ensures the livelihood of women in a remote part of the Indian Himalayas. Avani have recently won a government award in recognition of their work towards female empowerment. The project provide maternity, sick pay and a fair wage to their employees, preserving traditional craft skills and providing accommodation and schooling for the families of workers.
This collection promotes sustainable, ethical design.
